Outside of this Angela likes to fly and has flown in a variety of aeroplanes including a Tiger Moth, Sukhoi SU29, Harvard and P-51 Mustang.

Andy Greenhalgh

Andrew  has been flying since 1965, since a trip to Finland sparked a lifelong love.

“My dad used to teach at Marconi College, it’s no longer there, but he used to teach radar, so he had a lot of foreign students,” he said.

“He used to have three weeks of holiday and would try to visit his students wherever they were. This time we had a trip to Scandinavia, one of his students happened to be a glider and said to me ‘fancy having a go?’ and I said ‘yeah I’d love to’.”

Years later, Andrew learnt to fly a motor glider, and used to hire one to fly all over England. However, he wanted to adventure further and while having a cup of tea in an airfield cafe, he saw a brochure advertising learning to fly a microlight plane in Europe.

He took the lessons and while flying around Europe he stopped at a factory in Slovenia where they made microlight planes, so Andrew got his very own plane.
